The Tickr X is a heart rate monitor that is suited for endurance athletes. The device can record unique measurements for cyclists and runners along with heart rate and calories burned. The onboard memory can store 50 hours of data so users can leave their smartphone at home.
The Tickr X heart rate monitor by Wahoo Fitness was developed with endurance athletes in mind. Like most fitness trackers, it monitors heart rate, calories burned, and exercise duration. However, the Tickr X takes fitness tracking a step further by providing athletes with metrics that can help them improve their performance.
The Tickr X has an integrated elastic band to keep the device secure around the chest during exercise. For runners, the built-in accelerometer measures three running performance indicators: ground contact time, stride cadence, and vertical oscillation. The information can be transmitted in real-time when paired with a running watch so athletes can adjust their technique during the workout. Treadmill mode allows wearers to track distance and speed when on a treadmill after completing a calibration exercise. For indoor cyclists, the device can measure and record cycling cadence.
The memory can store 50 hours of workout measurements and can be connected to three devices at once through Bluetooth. The device can work for over 500 hours of exercise on a single battery. Like the chest wearable by Fourth Frontier which measures cardiac strain, this monitor offers different parameters which users may find useful for their needs.
