Dem Dx is an app that helps guide healthcare professionals through the medical assessment towards finding the most likely diagnosis.
Dem Dx is helping medical students and junior doctors transition from textbook learning to real-world diagnostics. Diagnostic reasoning is a skill that takes time for new medical professionals to grow, and a lack of confidence in their abilities may reflect in the way they interact with patients.
The diagnostic reasoning tool is an app that healthcare professionals can use as a reference tool when assessing patients. The junior doctor or medical student selects the speciality, and from there is guided through presentations, examinations, and investigations. The user is provided with the most likely diagnosis, which will help support their decisions when deciding the next steps.
Dem Dx has a quiz feature that provides the medical case of a simulated patient to practice diagnosing. So far, the app has over 10 000 diagnostic pathways and more than 500 medical images to aid the user in finding a diagnosis. Insimu is another tool that uses virtual simulation to support medical students with the diagnostic process. Dem Dx is currently used by medical professionals around the world and is peer-reviewed by 200 medical professionals.
