Neurosteer is the first wearable medical-grade brain activity monitor that can be used at home and in a clinical setting.

Neurosteer’s non-intrusive electroencephalogram (EEG) and cloud-based monitoring system can be used together to detect mood disorders such as anxiety or depression and neurological disorders including Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s, traumatic brain injury, and more. To use Neurosteer, individuals can attach the light, self-adhesive electrode strip to their forehead, which connects to two sensors through wires. The sensors then transmit the data received from the electrode strip to the brain activity monitor via Bluetooth, where data is stored and processed. From this information, objective biomarkers are displayed in a graphic on the screen, all in real-time. The output is a single-channel EEG recorded through equipment that weighs only 55 grams.

Besides initial screening, Neurosteer can monitor such disorders continuously, even while the patient is at home. Automatic alerts are sent to the patient’s doctors and caregivers, keeping them in the loop about their condition. This continuous monitoring allows for consistent updates and could result in a better outcome for the patient if their condition is quickly deteriorating.

Users can also take advantage of the closed-loop neurofeedback feature, which can be used to assess and enhance the brain, and potentially replace drug treatment for anxiety and depression disorders. Using AI, the platform can generate audio conversations that provide direction on relief and management of symptoms and improve the brain’s overall cognitive functioning.

Neurosteer can also assess cognitive performance while mentally challenging tasks are being performed and even while physical activity is being completed – The electrode strip will stay attached to the forehead through light to moderate physical engagement. Typically, EEG systems can have difficulty functioning through physical activity, but Neurosteer remains effective through muscle and eye movement, as well as sweat.
