MoodHealth is increasing accessibility to mental health treatment through its online prescription program.
Mental illness is a common problem that affects almost 1 in 5 Americans. The sudden changes to peoples’ lives brought on by Covid-19 have resulted in a sharp spike in anxiety and depression while changing access to mental health care.
California-based MoodHealth is an online mental health service that makes it easier for Americans to receive support online. Patients meet virtually with a mental health professional to discuss possible treatment options, including medication.
Once the treatment plan has been decided, the mental health professional can write a prescription and send it to the patient’s pharmacy, or ship the medication directly to the patient’s door. Monthly check-ins are available to monitor response to the medication and make any adjustments as needed.
MoodHealth charges a flat monthly fee, so there will be no surprise healthcare expenses. Currently, the cost for monthly appointments and the prescription is $50/month. It’s an additional $20 to have the medication shipped.
