Scopio Labs has automated microscopic examination by using AI to analyse the high-resolution X100 full-field images.
Despite how important microscopes are to diagnostics and research, there has been limited digital advancement in their technology over the last century. Analysing a sample is a time-consuming process that requires a specialist and is prone to human error.
Scopio has reimagined the microscope and developed a system that uses AI and high-resolution one-hundred magnification digital microscopy to make the process of analysing samples faster and more accurate – A vision shared by PathAI for pathology samples used in cancer diagnosis.
The automated microscopic examination of bone marrow and blood reduces the need for manual analysis. The X100 full-field image allows the specialist to examine the entire slide from their computer. Machine-learning analyses the image and provides the results in an easy-to-review format.
Scopio’s system is securely connected for remote image sharing that allows specialists to collaborate and consult. The technology isn’t limited to use in haematology or blood disorders – It has use-cases for veterinarians and drug development labs as well.
On October 21, 2020, Scopio Labs announced FDA clearance to market and offer their system.
