Thanks to the growing availability of telemedicine, primary care is becoming more accessible and avoiding the need to travel or the risk of virus transmission.
eVisit is one of the many healthtech startups in the USA, making healthcare more accessible through the use of telemedicine. They recently raised $14 million in Series A Funding to expand their virtual care platform. The demand for remote medical care had been steadily rising for years and spiked sharply in response to Covid-19.
eVisit offers a variety of features that patients and doctors require for remote consultations. By keeping everything in one place, from patient notes to payments, it saves on clerical hours and added stress from working with multiple programs.
Providers can set their availability so patients can schedule a consultation for the best time for them, or doctors can make themselves available for “see now” (on-call) appointments. Automatic appointment reminders are sent to patients who have scheduled consultations. The virtual waiting room shows doctors how many patients are queuing for appointments and can triage them, or redirect queries that require physical assessments.
Doctors and patients can connect through instant chat or video call and share images. After the appointment, doctors can add their notes, prescribe medications for the patient, and add the invoice amount which patients pay directly through the app. The all-in-one platform seeks to address both the patient and clinician needs in both community and hospital services.
