Is this a smartwatch that makes sense?

Fitbit Sense
United States

The Fitbit Sense is a hybrid smartwatch that is packed with the best fitness tracking technology Fitbit has to offer.

The more people know about their health, the more able they are to take control of it. Fitness trackers help people improve their athletic performance, lose weight, monitor their heart health, reduce stress, get better sleep, and so much more. No matter the wellness goal, chances are a fitness tracker can help the wearer get there.

Smartwatches have rapidly grown alongside fitness trackers in popularity, with more companies blurring the lines between the two by adding more health-tracking features to smartwatches. The Apple Watch 4, for example, was the first smartwatch or tracker to include ECG capabilities. While the Series 6 was the first Apple watch with the ability to check oxygen levels.

Fitbit has contributed to this hybrid category with their most premium offering to date, the Fitbit Sense. This smartwatch has all the features one would expect from the known brand of fitness trackers, with additional intelligent features to help the wearer navigate day-to-day modern life.

It is voice assistant-enabled, allowing the wearer to use Google Assistant or Alexa to set alarms, check the weather, and answer questions. In addition, the Fitbit Sense can take calls, receive texts and app alerts, and handle contactless payments.

The Fitbit Sense uses a compatible ECG app to assess the heart for atrial fibrillation – An abnormality with the heart rhythm that is often difficult to detect. Readings are recorded and easily shareable with medical professionals. The Fitbit Sense takes continuous heart rate readings 24/7, has a built-in GPS, and logs over 20 different types of physical activity. It monitors oxygen saturation, skin temperature, heart rate variability (HRV) and provides a stress management score. It measures electrodermal activity, which is the electrical activity in the skin, to create a graph representing your body’s response to stress and life events. Health data can be accessed through the display or the companion smartphone app, which tracks long-term changes. The Fitbit Sense was designed to be the best of both worlds; a reliable advanced smartwatch and a full-featured fitness tracker.
