The FitXR Virtual Fitness Studio turns exercise into fun, high-energy fitness VR games that help keep players motivated.
Popular workout classes are the ones that use energy and fun to keep people engaged in exercising, such as dance aerobics and those using gamification features such as those seen in Zwift. Fitness classes are an exciting way to incorporate exercise, especially for those who may not feel entirely confident on their own in the gym.
However, not everyone has the time or resources to head to the fitness studio. Working out at home means people can incorporate exercise into their schedule whenever it suits them. London-based FitXR has brought the energy of fitness classes to in-home workouts through fitness VR games
The FitXR Virtual Fitness Studio has a range of immersive workout classes, including boxing and dance aerobics, with new sessions being added regularly. The classes are taught by professional, high-energy fitness instructors who know how to make working out feel like a positive, fun way to spend time. Each workout class is designed as a virtual reality game to use gamification as an additional method of motivation.
For example, each boxing class is graded in terms of difficulty – From easy to difficult and varies in length of time and music preferences. While taking each class, hand tracking ensures that users only get points for punches and squats with the correct technique. People who enjoy a little competition can compete against other players virtually with increasing points awarded for longer streaks of accurate punches. Each session finishes with information on total amount of calories burnt.
FitXR is available on the Oculus Quest. Six add-on packs are available for additional VR fitness classes that increase in intensity.
