Illumigyn has created the Gynescope System to reinvent gynaecological exams. These innovations have brought diagnostics and imaging up to current times.
The way gynaecological exams are carried out has remained similar for almost half a century. But now, with HD imaging and a cloud-based documentation system, Illumigyn is bringing gynaecological exams up to 21st century techstandards. With high-quality imaging, diagnostic analysis can be performed with greater accuracy, and these images can be stored and viewed by any doctor from around the world. This provides the option for patients to partake in remote consultation with other experts and for a follow-up once the images have been analysed.
This FDA-approved and HIPAA compliant system can assist private practices, nurses, midwives, doctors, or technicians in taking HD images during a pelvic exam. To use the Gynescope System, clinicians can connect the scope with a compatible, single-use vaginal speculum. Then, with automated focus, highly detailed images are displayed on two screens, giving the clinician a deeper insight into the patient’s pelvic area. Additionally, the Gynescope’s ample lighting illuminates the clinical area, allowing for great precision in exams and any internal work that must be performed. An option for white or green illumination is available as well for an even more in-depth view.
Once the images are taken, they are automatically digitally documented and saved within the cloud, allowing any doctor to see the pictures. While using the platform, users have a hands-free mode available, giving them greater convenience during the examination. The system also has magnifying capabilities up to 102X, allowing them to see vividly within the vaginal canal or cervix. Illumigyn is currently adding to the Gynescope’s capabilities by developing AI-powered segmentation, training, deep learning, and AI clinical decision support software to give a second opinion without the need for a second examination.
