Malebox sends a collection kit directly to the patient’s door, who then sends it to a partner lab. Results and advice on maintaining or improving fertility are available within 48 hours.
There has been an enormous increase in people switching to telemedicine services for their primary healthcare recently. In response, more startups have been offering at-home testing kits for things like urine infections and early detection of chronic kidney disease.
When a couple is having trouble conceiving, male fertility through sperm testing is one of the initial investigations undertaken. However, a lot of males avoid fertility testing due to the uncomfortable nature of the discussion and test. Malebox is working on producing a comprehensive male fertility test that can be done entirely from home for an improved experience.
Patients are sent the kit to their home, which provides everything needed for collecting the sample. The patient then posts the sample to a partner lab and receives the results within 48 hours on the characteristics of their sperm. The results are uploaded to the online portal, along with advice on how to maintain or improve fertility – This can include advice on diet, smoking and alcohol. Malebox at-home fertility testing kits aren’t available yet, but people can sign up on their website to receive a notification when they launch.
