Okadoc is helping patients connect with doctors in over 130 specialities for video consultations or in-person appointments.
Okadoc is a telemedicine app for people in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia that’s helping to digitise healthcare services. The mobile app, available on iOS and Android, connects patients to doctors for video or in-person consults. Okadoc separates itself from many other telemedicine platforms by providing a range of options to help users find the best doctor for them, rather than being limited to a GP or a primary care doctor.
Currently, Okadoc has more than 130 medical specialities, including rehabilitation, plastic surgery, cardiology, and lactation. Users can filter doctor profiles by languages, gender, and insurances, so they can be sure they’ll find a doctor that’s most appropriate for them.
The doctor’s availability is kept up-to-date so patients can select a time slot that fits best into their schedule. The Emirates Hospital Group has recently adopted Okadoc’s booking system, which means all appointments can now be managed through the platform. Telemedicine use is surging across the world at a scale not seen before due to Covid-19, from mental health to breastfeeding, the question is, is it here to stay?
