MediVic was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic to provide people in South Africa with a way to access medical care safely. The telemedicine platform connects doctors and patients for online, no-contact appointments.
The Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant changes within primary care. An unnecessary trip to a healthcare clinic risks people spreading the virus to others or contracting it themselves. Doctors and frontline staff are working hard to provide usual medical care alongside the new challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
MediVic was created in response to the global pandemic to help people in South Africa access primary care safely. The young healthtech startup allows people to book appointments with a doctor and have their consultations through video, rather than having to go to the clinic. It keeps people safe from catching the virus while saving the stress of having to travel.
Doctors can prescribe medication which can be picked up at, or delivered by the patient’s local pharmacy. Telemedicine has experienced a boom over the last year, and we are now seeing more and more variations and innovations within the area.
