Think Ninja App
United Kingdom

ThinkNinja is an interactive mobile game led by an AI-powered character that helps young people understand emotions and mental health while teaching coping techniques.

When young people start feeling anxious or depressed, it can be difficult for them to understand where to turn for help and how to cope. Navigating daily stress and mental health issues can be confusing and overwhelming, while sometimes being uncomfortable to discuss with adults.

ThinkNinja by Healios is an app designed for youth between the ages of ten to eighteen. It is a fun, interactive mobile game that uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles to teach users about emotions and mental health. The user is guided by an AI-powered character called the WiseNinja, who is there to offer support and guidance at any time.

As the user works through the app, they will learn coping techniques, relaxation and breathing to help them through times of difficulty while learning all about self-care and mental illness.

ThinkNinja has been updated in response to Covid-19. Many young people are struggling with the changes and uncertainty due to the sudden nature of the pandemic. Abruptly, they were asked to handle isolation, a changed schooling method, loss of extracurricular activities, and more. It is no surprise that mental health issues quickly rose among the age group. The app can help with troublesome thoughts and feelings, low mood and anxiety. It can also direct gamers to urgent help resources if needed.

The Covid-19 update covers common fears about the virus, how to stay connected during social isolation, coping techniques to use during uncertain times, and more. It’s one of many games supporting children and young adults with mental health – Mightier combines gaming with wearable monitoring for biofeedback to help users find out immediately how effective calming strategies are for them.
