The compact system uses artificial intelligence to adjust the resistance based on the user’s performance automatically. It constantly provides feedback on technique and position.
Working out at home is not always practical for everyone, whether due to a lack of space for equipment or expertise. However, with many gyms around the world remaining affected due to Covid-19, working out at home is the only option for many.
The Tonal home gym is a compact wall-mounted system that provides both the equipment and guided workouts for working out at home. The system has a large touch screen for viewing the trainer and tracking results, and moveable arms with resistance cables that support hundreds of exercises.
The system has a variety of smart features to help users get the most out of each workout while tracking progress. The amount of resistance for the exercise is set by Tonal based on results of the user’s initial strength assessment. Tonal increases the resistance when the user is ready and detects when the user is struggling and needs the weight reduced.
Seventeen sensors analyse the user’s movements and provide feedback when the user’s range of motion and technique could be improved. This constant monitoring helps users get the most out of their workout while reducing their chance for injury.
The detailed progress tracking feature shows the gains made by specific muscles and muscle groups over time and calculates a strength goal for the user so they can see how they compare to others in their age group.
